In “Domestic Abuse” Judith Ewing points at the ground of domestic violence as a liable ground warranting divorce. According to the author God has conceptualized marriage as an egalitarian relation based on complementarity which should not be annulled, however, this by no means should be taken as a sense of immunity to continue in an abusive relation. The author feels that when things have gone downhill and the safety of one of the parties to the relationship is seriously threatened, there is obviously no turning back and the victim has all the right to free herself from the bondage.
